Manufacturing Team Leader

Reports To: Production Director

 

Job Summary:

Are you a proactive and experienced leader with a background in the manufacturing industry, specifically in the cannabis or hemp space? We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team as a Team Lead at our manufacturing company specializing in vape, gummies, pre-rolls, and flower products. As a Team Lead, you will play a vital role in leading manufacturing staff focused on formulations, vape filling, cart filling, ensuring quality control, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise manufacturing staff involved in formulations, vape filling, and cart filling processes.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements in the cannabis or hemp industry.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality vape products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production planning, quality assurance, and supply chain, to optimize manufacturing processes and meet production targets.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, consistency, and safety in manufacturing operations.
  • Ordering and monitoring production supplies,  inventory levels, raw material availability, and equipment maintenance to support uninterrupted production activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, implement corrective actions, and document any necessary process adjustments or improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols to create a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to share ideas, provide feedback, and actively participate in problem-solving initiatives.
  • Managing production staff which includes hiring, interviewing, placing job ads and training.
  • Monitoring and verifying employee hours.
  • Scheduling and forecasting staff needs based on production schedule.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leadership and successfully managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Experience and knowledge of formulations, vape filling, and cart filling processes.
  • Must be able to work at least 50 hours per week – weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining product quality and consistency.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the cannabis or hemp industry is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software for data analysis, inventory management, and reporting.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of our cartoning machines, with a specific focus on the KeyMac model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify improvements and optimize the performance of the Key Mac system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing personnel, and project managers, to ensure successful integration of the Key Mac machine.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for the Key Mac system.
  • Perform testing and validation of mechanical components to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues and provide technical support for the Key Mac machine during production and post-installation phases.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cartoning machine technology and identify opportunities for innovation and enhancement.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;  Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance of cartoning machines, with a focus on the Key Mac system.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including dynamics, kinematics, and material science.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to cartoning machines and packaging equipment.

This includes performing inspections, tests, and measurements throughout the production process, from raw materials to finished goods. As a quality control inspector, you are an invaluable member of our manufacturing team, ensuring the highest quality of production from the assembly line to the final inspection.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet standards.
  • Document issues noticed during measurement or visual inspection tests.
  • Make suggestions to increase product consistency.
  • Conduct a final inspection before and after the production is complete.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and techniques is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

  • Proven experience in generating leads and closing deals based on manufacturing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with high-speed cartoning, gummy manufacturing, bottling, and labeling, liquid filling, powder filling, soft gel manufacturing, bottling, and labeling, baked goods manufacturing and packaging, and health bar manufacturing and packaging.
  • Located in South Florida or willing to relocate.
